Dachangshu (BL-25) is a key acupressure point on the Bladder Meridian and is widely used for digestive health, especially issues related to the large intestine. Here's a breakdown of its details:

🌟 Dachangshu (BL-25) – 大肠俞

  • Translation: Large Intestine Shu

  • Meridian: Urinary Bladder (BL)

  • Point Number: BL-25

📍 Location:

  • Found on the lower back, at the level of the 4th lumbar vertebra (L4).

  • Approximately 1.5 cun lateral (about two finger widths) to the lower border of the spinous process of L4.

  • Tip: You can locate L4 by finding the top of the iliac crest (hip bone) and tracing it inward to the spine.

💡 Functions & Benefits:

  • Regulates the intestines

  • Relieves lower back pain

  • Improves bowel movements (constipation, diarrhea, bloating)

  • Strengthens the lower back and knees

  • May help with sciatica and lumbar stiffness

🤲 How to Stimulate:

  • Use your thumbs or knuckles to apply firm, steady pressure to both sides of the spine at this level.

  • Massage in a circular motion or hold the pressure for about 1–2 minutes per side.

  • Best done while lying face down or seated leaning forward.

⚠️ Cautions:

  • Always check with your healthcare provider before you utilize any kind of acupressure
  • Do not press directly on the spine—stay off the bony area and target the muscle tissue just beside it.

  • If there's severe back pain or injury, consult a professional before stimulating.
